Summary Description:
The Early Childhood Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing and maintaining a nurturing and supportive educational program for participating families and children. The position oversees the daily implementation of all Head Start standards being implemented into a classroom.

Qualifications:
1. One of the following:
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education
• Bachelor’s degree in related field and a current CDA
• Bachelor’s degree with Early Childhood endorsement
• Bachelor’s degree in related field and 18hours or coursework in Early Childhood Education
• AA in Early Childhood Education and 2 years preschool experience
AND
2. Current State of Iowa Early Childhood Teacher License

Summary Description:
The Assistant Teacher supports the Teacher in planning, implementing and maintaining a nurturing and supportive educational program for participating children. The Assistant Teacher facilitates all program operations during the teacher’s absence. The Assistant Teacher has the key responsibility for carrying out duties related to site maintenance and security at the close of each day. This position also works to carry out activities covering the comprehensive nature of the program.

Qualifications:
• AA degree or higher in Early Childhood Education
OR
• Two years experience in a licensed (or school district based) child care program
AND
One of the following:
Pre-school Child Development Associate credential (CDA)
One year Early Childhood Diploma from an accredited Community College
Other related Associate’s Degree with nine (9) hours of coursework in Early Childhood Education
