HACAP Mourns a Loss
It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of long-time HACAP family member, George Elsasser. George passed away on Monday, May 16, 2011, following a lingering illness.
Part of the HACAP family since 1983, George most recently managed the Senior Internship Program. Prior to that, he was a high school Humanities teacher and was a veteran of the Army Air Corps. George was proud of his military service, and even more proud of his family.
The quintessential Renaissance man, George was a philosopher, mathematician, and physicist. Always a teacher at heart, he was famous for providing reading and research material he thought would be of interest to friends and family. George enjoyed reading and playing golf, but his greatest love was to spend time with his family, particularly his grandchildren.
A counselor to HACAP and community leadership for years, George’s presence will be greatly missed.
