After 25 years of leading one of Eastern Iowa’s most successful benevolent organizations, HACAP Chief Executive Officer Don Maniccia has stepped down. The appointment, effective June 1st, of new CEO, Jane Drapeaux, formerly HACAP’s Executive Director, marks a rare change in leadership at HACAP.
In his 25 years of guidance Mr. Maniccia has been crucial in the implementation of leveraging cash, goods, and services toward the initiation of several programs. Privately-financed weatherization for low-income households, daycare provider support systems, utility-financed counseling and heat assistance, the Food Reservoir for area food pantries and various non-profits, emergency food boxes for families, transitional housing for the homeless, and the implementation of 14 Family Resource Centers to deliver these programs are all the results of Mr. Maniccia’s vision.
Incoming Chief Executive Officer, Jane Drapeaux has announced plans for HACAP’s continuing success. “Our vision is to move HACAP to a higher level of excellence and build on the solid foundation left by Don…with emphasis on customer service, compliance, and organizational excellence”
HACAP operates social services and anti-poverty programs in Benton, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, Linn, and Washington counties. The HACAP mission is “To promote economic and emotional strength toward a goal of self-sufficiency for the disadvantaged people in our communities”
