HACAP’s Quality Early Childhood Environments Program (QECE) has begun an Early Childhood Scholarship Program in Linn County to assist parents in meeting the cost for a quality pre-kindergarten educational experience for their children. The scholarship is not intended to pay the total cost of child care or preschool, but to pay a portion of those costs for eligible families. Children attending part-time are eligible for $75 per month; children attending full-time are eligible for $150.
Early Childhood Scholarship applications are available through participating child care centers/preschools that are qualified through QECE or are NAEYC Accredited. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. There are a limited number of scholarships available. Interested families must also provide income documentation through the previous years tax form, W2’s, or the previous months check stubs, statements, etc. from each source of household income. QECE will send a notification of approval or denial within 30 days of application. Eligibility is subject to review and payments are dependent upon the availability of funds.
