What does it mean if my child care provider participates in the PACES program?
The PACES program has a commitment to improve the availability of quality home child care in the communities we serve. The program requires that providers are registered with the Department of Human Services as a Child Development Home and provide care for children from birth to five years of age. Other requirements vary from county to county.
The PACES program also encourages providers to further their professional development through:
- Free trainings on developmentally appropriate practices in early childhood care and education
- Home visits with a Child Care Educator
- Providing developmentally appropriate activities and materials
- Opportunities for networking with other providers
- Technical assistance
- Information on other professional development opportunities
