Employment & Family Resources

Household income is a primary component of self-sufficiency. HACAP works to compliment existing community employment and family services without duplicating efforts. Our specialized services include:

Program: Family Development
Description: The Family Development Program consists of trained Family Advocates that provide services designed to strengthen families which are negatively impacted by the economic downturn. The program will coordinate a series of family centered events to teach families how to maintain sound nutritional practices, child development, youth activities, and healthy relationships during stressful economic situations. The Family Development Program is funded through the ARRA.

Program: Rural Senior Services
Description: HACAP Senior Services currently provides meals, medical information, medical equipment loans and some property maintenance services for residents of Benton County sixty or more years of age.

Program: Senior Employment Services
Description: HACAP works with seniors interested in retooling their job skills and training through the Senior Internship Program (SIP) to foster their economic self-sufficiency, and enjoy the benefits of unsubsidized employment in the private or public sector.

Program: Youth Initiative
Description: HACAP’s Youth Initiative works to create opportunities for children from families negatively impacted by the economic downturn to participate in school and after school activities, who otherwise would be unable to afford participation or equipment fees. The Initiative has a work skill development component that utilizes mentors and leaders from the community.
