ARRA Statewide Weatherization Crew and Contractor Training Program Syllabus

Below is a typical schedule of the training program, when presented in its entirety:

Day 1 (Typically a Tuesday, but may be scheduled as needed)

            House as a System
            Insulation: Types and R-Value

            Attics

PM - In-The-Field Training:

            Hands on attic bypass sealing
            Infiltration reduction techniques

Day 2

AM - Classroom Instruction:
            Walls

            Crawlspaces
            Construction (Doors/Windows)

            Material Specifications
            Mechanical Ventilation

PM - In-The-Field Training:
            Hands on dense pack wall insulation techniques
            Crawlspace insulation/ sealing, common issues with doors and windows
            Mechanical venting 

Day 3

            Lead Safe Work practices
            Slate Safe Work Practices

PM - In-The-Field Training:

            Special situations
            Review areas of concern
