SNAP Recipients Now Eligible for Head Start
4/26/2022
Last Thursday (April 21) The Office of Head Start (OHS) officially announced that recipients of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will be eligible to apply for Head Start services, nationwide.
The new policy change will allow for more families to be reached and help those receiving SNAP to easily participate in more programs and services that can help ease the burden of looking for local assistance programs.
“I am thankful that the Head Start Community always looks to understand community needs first when implementing any strategic shifts and systemic approaches to eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment, and attendance”, said Director of the Office of Head Start, Dr. Berdadine Futrell.
