Celebrating Wendy Boyer’s Retirement After 24 Years of Service

After more than two decades of nourishing her community with care, kindness, and countless meals, Wendy Boyer, Belle Plaine Senior Dining Cook, is retiring. Wendy has spent 24 years as a cook, including nine and a half years with HACAP, where her dedication has touched the lives of older adults across Benton County.

Wendy’s path to HACAP began long before she joined our team. For years, she prepared meals for Belle Plaine’s Meals on Wheels program, ensuring that residents in need had access to warm, nutritious food. That same spirit of service carried into her work at HACAP, where she became a steady, compassionate presence for the seniors she served each day.
When asked what she loved most about her time at HACAP, Wendy grew teary‑eyed. “It’s been an awesome place to work,” she shared. “All the people have been very sweet and good to me.” It’s no surprise, then, that what she will miss most in retirement is the people—the volunteers, coworkers, and seniors who became part of her daily life.

Wendy’s warmth, reliability, and genuine care have made a lasting impact on the Belle Plaine community. Her meals nourished bodies, but her kindness nourished spirits. As she steps into retirement, we celebrate her remarkable service and the heart she poured into every day of her work.

Thank you, Wendy, for feeding our community with love. We wish you a joyful and well‑earned retirement.
