Volunteer at HACAP

Volunteers at HACAP play a vital role in building stronger communities. We welcome volunteers of all ages and abilities, including both groups and individuals. A variety of volunteer opportunities and special projects are offered throughout the year to take part in. Every hour of volunteer time makes big a difference for the families we serve in Eastern Iowa.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with HACAP!

Current Volunteer Needs

Food Reservoir Warehouse Aide: Come to pick up orders, and do other warehouse jobs as needed. Volunteers need to be available for a 2-3 hour shift during the week between 7am - 5pm and able to commit to a regular schedule. These jobs involve lifting up to 20 pounds and standing for up to 4 hours, depending on shift length. Please email Craig Stiefel to learn more!
Energy Assistance Call Center: When the temps start to drop families in need look to HACAP for help with their utility bills during the colder months. Our staff are always busy and could use some help from a volunteer who may be interested in answering phone calls that come through our energy line. Email Chris for more information.

Ongoing Volunteer Needs

Packing and Sorting Food Donations: Help us quality check, sort and pack food for our neighbors in need.
Mobile Food Pantries: Help us pass out food to families and individuals driving through the pantry.
