HACAP Names Matt Majeski as New Chief Executive Officer

The Hawkeye Area Community Action Program (HACAP) is pleased to announce that Matt Majeski has been named Chief Executive Officer of the agency, effective January 1, 2026. Majeski currently serves as HACAP’s Chief Operating Officer and will work closely with outgoing CEO Jane Drapeaux over the coming weeks to ensure a smooth leadership transition.
 
“Matt’s deep understanding of our mission, combined with his extensive leadership experience and strong community partnerships, make him the ideal choice to lead HACAP into its next chapter", said Drapeaux.
 
A seasoned leader in human services with over 25 years of experience, Majeski brings a proven track record of building effective programs, leading high-performing teams, and driving organizational growth.
 
Before joining HACAP, Majeski served as Service Area Manager for the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, overseeing operations across 17 counties in eastern Iowa. His career also includes leadership roles with Linn County Public Health and several community-based organizations, where he worked to expand services and strengthen supports for families.
 
Majeski’s leadership is characterized by strategic thinking, operational excellence, and a deep-rooted commitment to helping individuals and communities thrive.
In addition to his public service career, Majeski is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the Army National Guard, where he specialized in medical operations and operational planning.
