HACAP CEO Jane Drapeaux Announces Retirement After Nearly Two Decades of Leadership

Drapeaux has been with HACAP for more than 25 years, serving as CEO since 2007. During her tenure, HACAP expanded its core service area to nine counties across Eastern Iowa and grew its annual revenues to more than $60 million. Under her leadership, the agency strengthened its programs to break down barriers and create opportunities for success for thousands of families each year.
Jane’s leadership proved especially critical in 2008 when Cedar Rapids was devastated by historic flooding. HACAP became the central call center for United Way 2-1-1, connecting affected residents with vital disaster relief resources. Her steady guidance helped the community navigate one of the worst natural disasters in U.S. history.
Before being named CEO, Drapeaux served as HACAP’s Head Start Director, building on her early career in Head Start programs, including in South Dakota, where she met her husband Dan.
