In East Central Iowa, the need is great:
- 53,000 neighbors in our region are food insecure
- 1 in 10 adults struggles with food insecurity
- 1 in 6 children does not have reliable access to healthy food
- 40,000 neighbors visit a pantry partner each year
- In 2024, the HACAP Food Reservoir distributed 10 million pounds of food across our community
Join Us in the Fight Against Hunger This September
Each September, HACAP joins Feeding America® and food banks nationwide to recognize Hunger Action Month—a time to raise awareness and inspire action in the fight against hunger. Together with partners, volunteers, and supporters, we are working to meet these needs and build a stronger, healthier community. Hunger Action Month is about more than awareness—it’s about action. Thank you for being part of the fight to end hunger in East Central Iowa.
