Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

Persons who are 60 or over or have someone in their household that is disabled, can apply during the month of October.  Please download an application, pick up an application outside our doors, or call your local HACAP office or 319-739-0100. Do I qualify for LIHEAP?

Persons who do not meet this requirement, can apply beginning November 1, 2024 through April 30, 2025. 

We’ve made applying simpler and faster! You no longer need to download or print any forms. This application process allows you to submit your information directly in just a few easy steps. Here’s how it works:

1. Fill out the application form – Click on the "Apply Now" button below to access the form. You'll be able to enter your information directly on the screen.
2. Submit your application – Once all required fields are completed, simply hit "Submit," and your application will be uploaded automatically into our system. No need for printing or mailing!
3. Get a confirmation – After submission, you’ll receive a confirmation email letting you know we’ve received your application.

Energy Crisis Program

If you are LIHEAP approved since October 1, 2024, and need help with a disconnect notice, defaulted on your pay arrangement, or need help getting reconnected, or are at 30% or less in LP, you, call your local HACAP office or 319-739-0100.
