About the Food & Fund Drive

The Eastern Iowa Freedom from Hunger Food & Funds Drive is back for our 21st year of summer drives. Coordinated by the HACAP Food Reservoir, the EIFFH is an opportunity for local businesses, families, religious organizations, and any community group to lend a helping hand to over 30,000 of our neighbors facing food insecurity.

Where Your Donations Go

1 in 13 individuals in HACAP Food Reservoir’s service areas struggle with food insecurity. For so many Iowans, a daily meal isn’t a choice between different dishes. It is a choice between food and other crucial needs—like medicine, electricity, or childcare, and with kids being home in the summer, an even larger burden is put on families to provide meals. With your help, HACAP is able to alleviate this burden by distributing 9.2 million pounds of food last year alone. Just $1 donated proves 5 meals to a family within Benton, Cedar, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, Linn, and Washington counties.

How to Get Involved!

This year’s Eastern Iowa Freedom from Hunger campaign will run from June 1st through September 1st. Your organization can participate in a traditional model, or virtually! Please reach out to espencer@hacap.org to hold a drive and with any additional questions.

1. Virtual Fund Drive  Send members to our online donation page and include your organization in the donation to be totaled!

2. Traditional Food & Fund Drive - Collect food and financial donations in person in your organization and then deliver them to HACAP. Use your imagination to brainstorm ways to engage your employees and members - host a popcorn sale, have departments compete for a prize, or have your own canstruction event.
