Washington County Set for Thanksgiving in July

Jun 20, 2019

Thanksgiving in July is a community wide food drive organized by the Mercy Health Network Iowa City, Executive Chef Ron Hall in partnership with United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties. Thanksgiving in July food drives will be held throughout the month of July by area business, civic and faith based organizations as well as interested individuals. All food and funds donated will go directly to individuals and families in need of assistance throughout Johnson & Washington Counties. You can organize your own mini food drive to help out of HACAP Washington Food Pantry.

Please send your financial gifts directly to our HACAP Washington Site at 2176 Lexington Blvd # 15, Washington, IA 52353. Please note "Thanksgiving in July" in the memo section to assure your donation will feed those in need.

Food is one of our most basic needs. Everyone understands what it means to be hungry, yet many are unaware of how widespread the need is in our community. Hundreds of individuals and families with children are in need of assistance each week. There is a network of concerned individuals silently waging the war against hunger each day. We are asking the community to join them in the fight against hunger.
